Reflexology is an incredibly beautiful, holistic and non-invasive treatment to receive throughout the pregnancy journey (and beyond!).
During a time when your body is going through tremendous change, reflexology can help to restore harmony and balance when you need it most - and have a calming influence on both mama and baby.
As it's non-invasive, it's the perfect treatment to receive while pregnant. By restoring the body to a sense of equilibrium, reflexology can help to encourage restful sleep, soothe aches and pains and relieve digestive issues - all of which are so common during pregnancy while the body is experiencing huge hormonal shifts.
I'm trained in Maternity Reflexology, meaning I can provide the most nourishing treatment safely and with awareness of what you'll need during each stage of your pregnancy. It's such a privilege to be a part of your journey and witness the amazing changes your body is going through to grow a tiny human - Mama's you're amazing!
Is it safe?
The role of reflexology is to assist and guide the body back to a state of balance, so all the body's systems are functioning as optimally as they are able - where could be the harm in that :)
Where's the evidence?
Not only is maternity reflexology completely safe, there have been numerous studies which support how beneficial it can be to mama and growing baby.
Research* and anecdotal evidence has revealed that reflexology can help to:
Give relief from pelvic girdle and low back pain
Aid quality of sleep during pregnancy
Help relieve consitpation, heart burn and nausea/sickness
Lower anxiety
Improve wellbeing
Significantly reduce pain during labour
Reduce the length of the first stage of labour
Improved quality of sleep in post-natal women
